A 5 o’clock in the morning idea…

In 2003, I woke with my mind racing. I was over 40. I was in a rut. Tired of life and London. What was I doing 20 years ago? I was in India. Fresh faced and reckless and with no idea what I was going to do with my life – except experience all I could. Twenty years later, I still didn’t know what I was doing with my life.

The idea suddenly occurred to me to go back to India. To retrace my steps and try and track down some of the people I’d met. To compare the India then and now. I might even get a book out of it. I even thought of a title ‘Backtracking’. Like most great ideas of mine it was instantly forgotten and back into my rut I went. Then in 2004 I hit a true mid-life crisis and was forced to look at myself in a way I had never done before.

My partner at work suggested a sabbatical and suddenly I remembered Backtracking.

And so here I am. About to follow in my own footsteps. And through this website…

...take a few of you with me.
